Helen Reeves

Helen Reeves competed in the Athens Olympics in 2004 and achieved a bronze medal in the slalom K1 slalom discipline. Her story is an amazing journey of overcoming repeated injuries and set-backs to deliver the fairy tale ending to her incredible career. Facing a lack of funding Helen focussed all her efforts on her Olympic dream, avoided injury and achieved success.

After retiring from international kayaking Helen joined sailing legend Dee Caffari in an adventure racing team racing across Tasmania and has also delivered inspirational programmes in schools for the Youth Sports Trust.  Helen Reeves now provides her unique experience and expertise as a commentator for the BBC and she now works as the Press Officer for GB canoeing and sits on the ICF (International Canoe Federation) Board.   

Helen Reeves is an engaging speaker who can not fail to charm an audience which is why she is part of the Bureau.  She is a fantastic and inspirational story teller and her Olympic journey is simply captivating.
