James Reeves


James Reeves has represented Great Britain since 2003 in Freestyle squirt kayaking and is the current World Champion.  During that time he has also represented his country at other Freestyle disciplines and completed several incredible expeditions to extreme wilderness locations.

James Reeves has been kayaking since the age of 15 when he started to teach himself in his school swimming pool. Whilst at University he discovered the competitive side of Freestyle Kayaking when he entered his first competition and came 3rd in the National Student Freestyle 2000. James started to enter national senior competitions in 2003 specializing in the Squirt discipline. James's kayaking has take him all over the world encompassing such places as Africa, Alaska, Australia, Canada and all over Europe. class and since then has had an impressive list of results which include 5 British Champion titles, European Championships and of course the Worlds.

Off the water James Reeves is heavily involved in the national coordination of the sport, in 2007 he instigated of a new series of events across the UK as well as joining the UK Freestyle Committee. James has worked closely with organisations such as The Princes Trust, the County Sports Partnerships and Anti-Bullying Programmes to inspire and motivate children and young people.  He has successfully combined his sporting career with his role as a Innovation Expert, developing new technologies and business start-ups to help them bring new products and ideas to market.

James Reeves is a phenomenal and inspirational athlete having competed at the top of his sport for almost a decade. He is an exciting speaker for the Bureau and MC for extreme sports events and inspires people to give it a go.
